Magazine Photo-Shoot Equipments
For the next step in the Media Coursework, I needed to produce photos for my music magazine. To do so, I'd need a few equipments such as:
- The Canon EOS 400D Camera (10.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor)
- Bowens Radio Trigger
This is the Bowens Radio trigger attachment that we added to the Canon EOS which allowed the signal to be sent to the Esprit. As you can see there is an aerial mounted upon it, and the same aerial is on the Esprit flasher. This device is synchronised with the Bowens Gemini Esprit GM 500 Flash and basically works by radio single transmitter Ariel on both devices. So when I take the photo, as I click the shutter button, a radio signal is sent almost instantaneously to the Esprit causing it to flash. This allows me to take a picture with an added flash to enhance the ambience lighting effect.
Bowens Gemini Esprit GM 500 Flash
This device is synchronised with the Canon EOS 400 d Camera through the Bowens Radio Trigger. This device works by a radio transmitter aerial on both the Bowens Gemini Esprit and Canon EOS. The device stores electricity from the mains and produces a flash when the electricity is sent to the bulb; however, this equipment can be very dangerous because the electricity stored can strike anyone or anything if used incorrectly.

- 60cm Soft Box
This equipment is used as to soften lighting effect to a photo. Behind the screen is a very uneven texture, aluminized fabric surface to act as a light reflector, designed to diffuse the light. This adds a even and smooth tone of lighting.
This is a circular object made of the same type of material as the silver coating of the inside of a Soft Box. This is used to manually reflect light onto the main object of the photograph and is held at an angle to effectively reflect light to the photographer's preference
