Audience Research Questionnaire and Graphs
Question 1: what is your gender?
I asked this question to know the gender of the people and to see if there are any relationships with their gender and answers. For example, the males may agree upon something differ from the females. This is important for me to know because my target audience’s feelings and opinion are what attracts their attention to a college magazine.
Of the 20 people I asked 10 males and 10 females. I asked around randomly but also keeping the amounts of males and females equally proportions of both sexes so that my research was fair.
Question 2: How old are you?
I asked this question to know the ages of the people and to see if there are any correlations with their ages and their answers. For example, the males may agree upon something differ from the females. This is important for me to know because my target audience’s feelings and opinion are what attracts their attention to a college magazine.
Question 4: Name 5 things you would like in the magazine?
I asked this question to know the people opinions on magazines and to see what the people would like in the magazine. Of the 20 people I asked, my results showed a mixed range of different interests. Results showed that all male and females choose music and almost all males and females choose music. However, all ten boys choosen sports news and a few requested a 'men's' page, whereas the females choose celebrity gossip and teacher gossips.
Question 5: How much would you like the magazines to cost?
I asked this closed question to know the people opinions on magazine’s price and to see if there are any connection with their gender and their answers. For example, the younger age group may agree upon something differ from the older age group, or the males may agree upon something differ to the females. This is important for me to know because my target audience’s feelings and opinion are what attracts their attention to a college magazine.
Question 6: How often would you like the magazine to be put on sale?
I asked this closed question to know the people opinions on how often would they like their magazine. Results show the audience monthly, I agree, simply because a college magazine takes work to make. Also the magazines would cost, therefore, students may not buy them daily due to the daily payments.
Question 10: what colours would you like to be in the magazine?
I asked this question to know the people opinions with the colour themes. Some people may like a colour and some may dislike a colour which could lose attraction to the audience. This is important for me to know because my target audience’s opinions are what attracts their attention to a college magazine. Results show a majority of the people who likes the colour blue, six males and five females.
Question 12: what size would you like the magazine?
I asked this closed question to know the people opinions with the magazine size that attracts the people most. This is important to me to know because some may agree upon an A5 magazine to save space or some others may agree upon something differ like an A4 magazine for easy reading. Results show that my audience would prefer an A4 magazine, six males and nine females.
By looking at my questionnaire results, I've learnt that, certain people like a certain thing more than other, for example, the males likes the sports news more than the females, and the females like the celebrity gossip more than the males. Also, almost everyone like the colour blue and this shows me that the colour blue attracts my audience most. Of all the 20 people I have asked, all have choose to have music in the magazine. This informs me that music is the biggest attraction to the audience. I also asked a closed question if my audience would prefer the magazine to be either A4 size or A5, and my results shows, of the 20 people I asked, 15 people ticked A4 and 5 foe A5 size. I’ve asked at random why they have chosen so, and for those who choose A4 said A4 size are more easy to read from and they have larger images and text, also they usually have more to read which could can be more efficient in money sense.. And for those who chose A5 said A5 size magazine are smaller, so they’re less space consuming and easier to carry around.
